WELCOME TO
Virtue Leaders
Virtue Leaders is the unique collection of resources and coaching
for educators and parents to use V*HERO content
to establish a foundational MORAL COMPASS in children
through virtue literacy and FUN faith enrichment.
The Virtue Leaders Process
Virtue Leaders is a process in which adults are given tools and training to effectively empower children with knowledge, habits and a desire to live with heroic virtue.
Virtue Leaders develop Virtue Literacy in children by starting with basic concept recognition that becomes a sense of personal ownership, and ultimately gives children a mindset of missionary discipleship.
TOOLS: V*HERO Power Packs: These activity guides are easy-to-execute in a classroom or at home. Each Power Pack is themed around one virtue and divided into four content areas: PONDER (Story-based learning about the target virtue), PLAY (Fun game-style activities to bring the focus virtue to life through interaction with other children), PRACTICE (Simple printable activity pages, and more), and PRAY (Affirm that virtue is activated through the power of prayer)
TRAINING: Virtue Leaders are trained in a developmental structure that can be applied to the use of V*HERO Power Packs, but educators and parents can apply this method to many other kinds of teachable moments in school and at home.

POWER PACK
Component #1: KNOW
The V*HERO Virtue Literacy process begins with simple virtue word recognition. Each virtue word/concept is associated with endearing characters and fun activities that anchor the featured virtue in a young child's mind.
Tiny Virtue Hero
The Tiny Hero animal or insect is a storyteller who speaks directly to the child in the "Virtue Flip Story" and invites pretending and friendly associations with the virtue word.
Coloring Page & Word Practice
Children enjoy personalizing two different styles of free printable coloring pages. The Tiny Hero features prominently on one, and the virtue word itself is practiced on the other.
Pray time & Play time
The featured virtue becomes a lived experience shared with friends through meaningful prayer and play time.
POWER PACK
Component #2: GROW
The second step in V*HERO Virtue Literacy process deepens a child's understanding and personal engagement with virtue through the example of a biblical role model, virtue-focused scripture verses and activities.
BIBLE Virtue Hero
The Bible Virtue Hero Backstory, along with the imaginative Pretend and Befriend scripted play-acting, invite children to admire the way virtue shined in the lives of biblical heroes.
Sword of Spirit Word Practice
Children are given a chance to memorize a short scripture verse that spotlights the focus virtue.
Prayer and Fun
The "G-Force Prayer" affirms that God's grace is essential for any person to behave with authentically heroic virtue. Plus, fun and games anchor the learning with positive memories.
POWER PACK
Component #3:
GO!
This step in the V*HERO Virtue Literacy process invites children to be on MISSION with God to spread heroic holy goodness in the world. Discovering a virtuous role model from history and then praying for people in that person's homeland give children a sense that they can make a concrete difference.
MISSION Virtue Hero
Children discover details about a holy and heroic person from history who exemplifies the focus virtue.
Mission-Minded Prayer
Children are invited to pray for people in one of the Mission Regions of the world, a region where the Mission Hero lived or worked as a missionary. (Plus- option to pray part of the World Mission Rosary)
Practice and Games
Through games and activites, children are equipped to join in God’s MISSION to show others how to live with HABITS of holiness and virtue.

Cathy Gilmore, Founder of the Virtue Literacy Project, is the author and creator of the stories, songs, games and activities included in each V*HERO Power Pack. She has spent over a decade of research building effective real-world strategies to ignite the DESIRE for habits of heroic virtue in children.
The list of Everyday Virtues includes: the 3 Theological Virtues, the 4 Cardinal Virtues, and the 7 Capitol Virtues, along with 26 additional practical virtues for Christian living. In time, the full collection V*HERO Power Packs will feature each of the 40 Everyday Virtues.
Absolutely NOT! Some families or classrooms decide to use certain components with a small group of children, and save other components for a fun-faith enrichment experience with a large group at a later time. Flexibility is the rule. Do what fits best with the age of the children, plus time and space availability.
Use the "Contact us" page on this Virtue Literacy website to ask to schedule a call with Cathy to explore how the pilot process can work.
